Kingsgrove Bus Depot Conversion for Zero Emission Buses Program
The Kingsgrove Bus Depot is undergoing a major conversion to zero emissions technology to accommodate a new fleet of approximately 155 battery electric buses.
This project is part of the Transport for NSW’s broader initiative to transition over 8,000 diesel and natural gas public transport buses across the state to zero emissions technology by 2047.
The works commencing on Tuesday 8th October will decommission the existing fuelling infrastructure, replacing it with zero emissions technology to support the new fleet of electric buses.
The Zero Emission Buses Program aims to:
- Reduce fuel pollution to the environment
- Reduce reliance on overseas fuel
- Create better health outcomes for community
- Provide quieter, smoother bus journeys
- Create a greener, cleaner future
